Main new feature is Flash 8 / SWF 8 support. Also now UAE lets you export editable action parameters as text and can import modified text back.

This version updates the decompiler engine to the latest and fixes a few minor bugs. 'Actionscript Import Options' dialog, ability to partially edit gotoAnd... actions and option to suppress error log is added.

May 23, 2005: UAE 4.06 released!
This version adds color effect and matrix transform to Add Layer dialog, updates the decompiler engine to the latest. Also Library Tab now shows the font name for static text stymbols.
 
February 2, 2005: UAE 4.05 released!
This version adds frame label editing, updates the decompiler engine to the latest. Also Extra Actions are now configurable.

UAE now shares the latest decompiler engine with ASV 4.081.

UAE now shares the latest decompiler engine with ASV 4.08. Edit Instance Name command added to Timelines Tab. Edit Linkage ID command added to Library Tab. Action Find command added to Actions Tab. Modify command now split into Edit Import URL and Edit Initial Text commands in Library Tab. Interface enhancements. Various minor bug fixes.
 
August 1, 2004: UAE 4.02 released!
UAE now shares the latest decompiler engine with ASV 4.07. Tested with Flash MX 2004 7.2, support for FSCommand2 added. UAE can now change version of a version 5 SWF to 6. Edit location command added to Timelines Tab.

What's new in version 4.0?
  • UAE now supports Flash MX 2004 generated SWF 7 and register optimized SWF 6 files.

  • Now ScriptLimits Tag can be add and edited in Modify Movie Dialog.

August 2, 2003: UAE 3.08 released!
This version updates the decompiler engine with the latest used in ASV 3.16.
 
If you have downloaded UAE and have your download instructions, please download the same file again. You'll see that the ZIP now contains UAE 3.08. (You'll use your existing license file UAE30.PKE).

This version updates the decompiler engine with the latest used in ASV 3.15.
 
May 4, 2003: UAE 3.06 released!
This version updates the decompiler engine with the latest used in ASV 3.12 (which will be released tomorrow). Also now the info in the Library Tab can be copied using the context menu.
 
April 12, 2003: ASR released!
ASR, Action Script Replacer, is a new tool that can import actionscript from a SWF file to replace actions in another SWF file. More info available here. ASR is not sold separately and is free for our customers who have purchased both ASV and UAE.
 
March 21, 2003 - UAE 3.05 released!
  • Now, UAE can change the type and the evaluated state of a parameter. (For example you can now change a variable to a constant string or a string to a variable, or a boolean to a number).
  • Now, you can add a getURL action to the end of any frame.
  • Now, a layer can be added to any frame.
  • Now, UAE won't import duplicate required symbols. For example, when replacing or importing a Text symbol, UAE also imports the Font symbol that is used by the Text symbol. But if the Font symbol (which is being inderectly imported by UAE because it is a required symbol for the Text symbol) already exists in the SWF, UAE will not import the Font symbol and change the reference in the Text symbol to the existing Font symbol instead.
  • Now, UAE can open compressed SWF files version 5 or below. (Normally only SWF version 6 and above files can be compressed).
  • Many bug fixes, including one that wouldn't let UAE save some video symbols.
  • Some decompiler enhancements.
February 8, 2003 - UAE 3.03 released!
  • With the new Edit Colors Dialog you can now change colors in graphic and text symbols.
  • With Movie Information Dialog now you can view movie properties.
  • With Modify Movie Dialog you can now edit main properties of the SWF: dimensions, background color and frame rate.
  • Some minor bugs and some bugs that would occur on rare conditions fixed. All users are recommended to use this version.

January 20, 2003 - UAE 3.02 released!
This version fixes lots of bugs, brings decompile library up to date and adds XP Themes support. All users are recommended to use this version to avoid bugs of the previous versions.
 
December 2, 2002 - UAE 3.01 released!
This is a minor update which mainly fixes some bugs that occur under rare occasions.
 
September 1, 2002 - Announcement
Not only UAE 2.x customers but UAE 1.x customers (that makes all UAE customers) will receive the new version as a free upgrade. UAE 3.0 is now priced at 49.95 USD! We will have one month grace period and this regular price will be effective on October 1.
 
Current customers will receive an email from us about their free upgrade in 2-3 days. If your email has changed please contact us with your order id at support@buraks.com. (You'll receive an automatic confirmation email when you write to this address).
 
September 1, 2002 Version 3.0 is released.
