This dialog lets you choose the video file for previewing the current FLV.
 

 
Only key frames in a video can be seeked while the Video Preview Window is open. In order to work around this issue, the following options are presented when you attempt to open the Video Preview Window for the first time. The chosen option will be saved in a file named 'captionate.cit' in the same folder as the FLV file, and will not be asked for again. You can later change this option with File|Choose Video for Preview command.
 
Use the current FLV file
The current FLV file will be used for preview. The downside is, if the FLV does not contain frequent key video frames, you may not seek to exact times you want while the Video Preview Window is open.
 
Use audio of the current FLV file
A new FLV file will be created containing only the audio tags of the current FLV. The preview will be audio-only but totally seekable.
 
Use the current FLV file processed by FFMPEG
A new FLV file will be created by processing the current FLV with FFMPEG, forcing all video frames to be key frames. (See Preferences Dialog to change frame rate of the FFMPEG processed file). However, FFMPEG works only with Sorenson H.263 video codec and this option will be disabled for other codecs. (See FLV Information Dialog to find out the video codec of the current FLV).
 
Select a video file
You can select a Windows Media Player video file (AVI, WMV, MPG... etc.), or a FLV file if you want. While any file can be selected, this option makes sense if you select the original source video file which you had converted to FLV.
 

 
Above: Captionate asks if you want to save the preview file to cache folder.
 
Note: FLV Files that have URL encoding in their names (like A%20.FLV), may not display in the Preview. You will need to rename the file as a work-around.
