Caption Add Panel
 
You can show/hide this panel using the View|Caption Add Panel menu command.
 
Time
Time code for the caption.
 
This value will be updated with the current playhead time when it changes. If the preview video is playing, this value will be updated continuously.
 
When the preview video is closed or paused, you can manually enter a value or use the small buttons below for seconds and milliseconds, or you can click on the timeline to set the playhead time and hence this value.
 
You can set the playhead time to this value by clicking on .
 
Caption Text
You can enter the caption for the selected language track (see below) here.
 
Speaker
Speaker for the caption can be selected using this list. You can also use the following buttons to manage speakers quickly:
 
Adds a new speaker. Speaker Properties Dialog will be displayed.
Edits the selected speaker's properties. Speaker Properties Dialog will be displayed.
Deletes the selected speaker. The references to this speaker in all captions will also be deleted.
 
Click Add Caption to add the Caption.
 
Since time values must be unique, if a caption exists with the same time value, you will be prompted if you want to modify the existing caption.
 
Feed captions from text file
: Displays Import Feed Text Dialog. Imported text will be used to feed caption strings. Each time Add Caption is clicked, the next line from the imported text will be fed into the caption field.
: Stops feeding the caption strings from the text file.
 
Language Track
 
Current language track can be selected using this list. This selection affects both the Caption Add Panel and the Caption List below (captions for only one language track can be shown in the list at a time). You can use the following buttons to manage the language tracks quickly:
 
Adds a new track. Language Track Properties Dialog will be displayed.
Edits the selected track's properties. Language Track Properties Dialog will be displayed.
Deletes the selected track. All captions for the track will also be deleted.

 
Caption List
 
Captions are listed here in chronologic order. Caption properties can be edited in-place (by clicking on a cell, or by selecting it and pressing F2). You can move selection using arrow keys, Enter accepts the changes and Escape cancels them. Delete deletes the selected caption, Insert adds a blank caption at the current playhead time.
 
When a caption is selected, the playhead goes to the time code of the caption, unless View|Do not Seek Selected Item Time is checked.
 
Caption Icons
: Caption text is blank for all language tracks.
: Caption texts are present for some language tracks.
: Caption texts are present for all language tracks.
 
Double clicking on the icon causes the playhead to seek the time value.
 
Time
Time code of the caption, which must be unique for each caption. This value can not exceed the duration of the open FLV file. You can assign the current playhead time to the selected caption using the Utility|Set Item Time to Playhead Time command by simply pressing F3.
 
Speaker
Speaker for the caption.
 
Caption Text
Caption text of this caption, for the selected language track. Since captions don't have a duration property, a blank caption text can be used to remove the previous caption if needed.
 
Rate
Shows the wpm (words per minute) value for this caption in this language track. The value is calculated by dividing the word count by the duration between this caption and the next one.
 

 
Green: Below or equal to the target wpm rate.
Blue: Between 100-115% of the target wpm rate.
Red: Above 115% of the target wpm rate.
 
Maximum length the bar represents is the 150% of the target wpm rate for the track.
 
You can change the target wpm value by editing the language track properties.
You can change the minimum character count for a word in the Preferences Dialog.
 
Sidebar
: Adds a blank caption at the current playhead time.
: Opens the Caption Properties Dialog for editing the selected caption.
: Deletes the selected caption.
: Asks for confirmation for deleting all captions. (Note that all captions for all language tracks will be deleted. To delete all captions in a language track, delete the language track).
